About GP Services

CHAC provides comprehensive GP services to support your health and wellbeing at every stage of life. Our General Practitioners work alongside our Aboriginal Health Practitioner, Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses and midwife to deliver care that is respectful, culturally safe and focused on your individual needs.

We welcome Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members, families, and all members of the public from Dareton, Wentworth and surrounding areas.

Bulk billing: All services and programs at CHAC are bulk billed — there are no out-of-pocket costs for eligible patients. Please bring your current Medicare card (and DVA card where applicable) to each appointment.

  • General medical consultations (new and existing health concerns)
  • Preventive health checks and health assessments
  • Chronic disease management (e.g. diabetes, heart disease, asthma/COPD)
  • Care plans and referrals to allied health and specialist services
  • Women’s health and men’s health
  • Family planning and sexual health
  • Mental health support and referrals
  • Medication reviews and repeat prescriptions (where clinically appropriate)
  • Immunisations and health screening
  • Referrals for pathology, imaging and specialist appointments
  • Follow-up care after hospital visits or specialist appointments
Appointments

We encourage patients to book an appointment where possible. Walk-ins are supported and may be triaged by a nurse or Aboriginal Health Practitioner based on urgency.

If you need:
• A longer appointment (complex health needs)
• Interpreter support
• Transport assistance

please speak with reception when booking.

After hours

CHAC is not open outside normal business hours. If you require urgent medical assistance after hours, please attend Mildura Base Hospital or seek appropriate urgent care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an appointment?

Appointments are recommended, however walk-ins are supported. Walk-in patients may be triaged based on urgency.

Do you bulk bill?

How do I get my results?

Patients are contacted if results need follow-up. If you haven’t heard from us within a reasonable timeframe, please contact reception.

Can I contact a doctor by email?

We respond to electronic communications during business hours, but email is not suitable for urgent matters. For urgent concerns, please call the clinic. In an emergency, call 000.

What if I need care after hours?

CHAC is not open outside normal business hours. If urgent, attend Mildura Base Hospital or seek appropriate urgent care. In an emergency, call 000.
